NEWS UPDATE 10 May 2026

Sean writes;

Many of you friends and supporters will be aware of our desire to refurbish the original old chapel part of our site.

Some significant structural issues with the main hall has resulted in some necessary major planned demolition work, which began on Saturday and will continue into this week.

As one passer-by stopped on Saturday looking at the machines working, he said to me, ‘Zac’s isn’t going is it?’ Very quickly he filled up with tears at the thought of it. ‘Zac’s helped me years ago. Gave me food when I needed it.’ I reassured him, we’re not going anywhere, and we’ll continue to help others in the future, as we had him.

On the one hand we are very sad to have to take down a familiar part of the building. On the other, we look forward to being able to redevelop that part of the site to continue our work of mission and service in the community, in the tradition of being followers of Christ, into the future.

Our food and support services will have some slight adjustments this week, but otherwise it’s business as usual, and will continue as usual as soon as possible after the road has reopened.

Keep following us for updates on future plans and how you can support us in this. Thank you as always for your ongoing support.
